Why he was chosen as a Next Gen All Star Top 20 Under 40 winner:
“At the age of 29, Anthony Rodriguez has dedicated nearly half of his life and his entire professional career to serving others through his work in the plumbing industry. Starting at the age of 14, Rodriguez gained hands-on experience in the trade by working for his uncle’s plumbing business, which primarily served commercial clients in the local area. During the economic downturn in 2008, when his uncle needed to downsize, Rodriguez stepped up and became an integral part of the business.
“Through his experience working with his uncle, Rodriguez not only learned the technical aspects of plumbing, but also gained insights into the business ownership side. He realized the importance of being a leader and mentor in the industry. Now, as the owner of Z PLUMBERZ of Downriver, Rodriguez makes it a priority to be a resource and mentor for his team of plumbing technicians.
“In addition to mentoring his team, Rodriguez keeps his clients well-informed about the plumbing services they receive. He emphasizes effective communication to educate customers about the latest plumbing topics, services and solutions so that they can make informed decisions for their homes or businesses. By keeping his team updated on industry trends and solutions, he ensures that they are equipped to educate customers throughout the plumbing process.
“Recently, Rodriguez has made it a focus to educate his team and client base on trenchless technology and how it can be used as a better alternative to traditional pipe replacement that requires excavation. He has also started implementing small demonstration videos on the website to offer DIY solutions for customers and educate them on whether professional assistance is truly necessary, saving them money and building trust in the process.
“To stay ahead in the field and maintain an advanced level of expertise, Rodriguez prioritizes ongoing education and training. He holds various certifications, including a Master Plumber license, Plumbing Contractor license, Backflow certification, WARDFlex certification and TracPipe certification. These certifications reflect his commitment to staying up to date with the latest industry advancements and best practices.
“Outside of Z PLUMBERZ, Rodriguez is passionate about promoting career opportunities in skilled trades, especially among local students. Drawing from his own experience and success in the industry, he actively seeks ways to educate students about the viable and rewarding alternatives to traditional higher education that skilled trades offer.
“Through his dedication to mentorship, client education, ongoing training and inspiring the next generation, Rodriguez continues to make a positive impact in the plumbing service industry.” — Peyton Harvey
