Berner International introduces the Architectural Elite, the debuting model of Berner’s new Architectural Collection, which has the most revolutionary and beautiful cabinet redesigns in air curtain history, the company states. The patented Architectural Elite air curtain combines the air curtain industry’s decades-old energy savings and thermal comfort protection performance with today’s industry-leading controls platform and efficient, quiet electronically commutated (EC) motors, it adds. Westinghouse recently expanded its line of mini-split heat pump systems for the U.S. and Canadian markets. This addition includes a broad range of indoor and outdoor units for use in a wide variety of applications. New for 2022, Westinghouse now offers single-zone outdoor units ranging in capacity from 9,000 to 36,000 Btu/h, and multi-zone outdoor units between 18,000 and 42,000 Btu/h. Single-zone outdoor units are compatible with the new line of Westinghouse indoor units, which includes ceiling cassettes, horizontal ducted, multi-position air handlers, and wall-mount units of various capacity.

Jones Stephens introduces PEX-A plumbing solutions, a comprehensive offering including PEX-A pipe, as well as F1960 cold expansion and F1807 and F2159 crimp-style fittings. Jones Stephens’ PEX-A pipe is available for potable water and oxygen barrier applications. Red, white and blue colored coils and sticks are available to meet specific installation needs. Jones Stephens’ PEX-A piping system solutions are certified and approved to meet industry standards and are manufactured with the highest-quality materials, the company notes.

Goulds Water Technology, a Xylem brand, launched its GEP series cast-iron effluent pump, ideally suited to residential greywater and septic applications. The new pump features a robust cast iron housing that provides maximum heat dissipation and a premium mechanical seal design for superior protection against sand and abrasive materials found in modern wastewater streams. The cast-iron vortex impeller can handle solids up to 3/4” in size. Additionally, the reliable mechanical switch coupled with solid float ensures dependable operation, and the engineered motor is designed for peak hydraulic performance without overloading, the company noted.

A. O. Smith announces the addition of X3 scale prevention technology to its full line of residential condensing gas tankless water heaters. Designed with both consumers and contractors in mind, X3 Technology prevents scale buildup in a tankless unit, eliminating the need for routine descaling maintenance, tripling the expected lifetime of a unit and enabling it to run at like-new performance and efficiency. X3 Technology means the end user never has to descale a tankless water heater again – alleviating maintenance time for contractors and reducing ownership costs for homeowners. The units use up to 199,000 Btu/h of natural gas to deliver a continuous supply of hot water to residential applications, A. O. Smith points out.

NIBCO introduces its PVC termination vent screens (#4818-SCRN) for high-efficiency appliance lines in residential construction. The new vent screens prevent wildlife, leaves and debris from blocking PVC exhaust vent pipes. Available in 2", 3" and 4" diameter sizes, the vent screens are easy to install by push or interference fit with PVC or ABS sockets. No solvent cement or glue is required for installation. The vent features a stainless-steel screen with1/4" mesh opening that is corrosion resistant and allows for maximum air flow. The interference fit makes it easy to install and easy to remove during freezing temperatures when condensation could freeze the opening shut, NIBCO noted.

The Elite ULTRA Duo boilers from HTP include dual heat exchangers that provide built-in operational redundancy. With firing rates between 285,000 to 399,000 Btu/h, the boiler guarantees energy savings with up to 96% AFUE. The turndown ratio of up to 20:1 limits short cycling and provides more efficient energy consumption. Cascade up to four Duo boilers to further increase redundancy and provide up to an 80 to 1 turndown ratio.

tekmar announces the launch of two new accessories: Leveling Shim Kit 096 and the Spare Socket Cover Plate 097. Leveling Shim Kit 096 prevents standing water on top of snow/ice sensors by making them flush with the surface of a slab. It consists of two shims of 1/8” and one shim of 1/4” to be placed over the socket to allow height adjustment. Spare Socket Cover Plate 097 provides a spare socket location for future snow/ice sensor installation or expansion of the snow melting system. The cover plate is made with brass, which provides a long-term solution to cover and protect a spare socket used in driveways and walkways, the company explains.
