Daikin Applied
Packaged rooftop system
Rebel Applied packaged rooftop HVAC system is now available in a bigger cabinet that provides 45-75 tons of air-conditioning capacity with supply airflow volumes up to 29,000 cubic feet per minute (cfm). The new unit also features low-global warming potential (GWP) R-32 refrigerant. With the transition to a more climate-friendly refrigerant, the new upgrades provide building owners a cost-effective solution to improve energy efficiency and start decarbonizing facilities. The system is available with Daikin inverter compressors — another technology that’s core to decarbonization. By continually adjusting to building load, these compressors help Rebel Applied consume less energy at part load to deliver an Integrated Energy Efficiency Rating (IEER) as high as 20.3, more than 40% above the ASHRAE 90.1 Energy Standard for Buildings. Rebel Applied also features Sorbent Ventilation Technology (SVT) from enVerid Systems that allows building operators to decrease the volume of outdoor air needed and the total cooling load of their buildings, which can trim HVAC energy use by up to 30%.
EVAPCO
Hybrid fluid cooler
EVAPCO’s new PHW-induced-draft parallel hybrid fluid cooler is designed to maximize heat rejection, allowing reduction of connected horsepower. The CTI-certified PHW is designed as a compliment to EVAPCO’s ESW4, the company’s largest and most energy-efficient single-cell evaporative cooler. The PHW offers high-tonnage capacity and layout flexibility for industrial plants, data centers and large HVAC applications, especially where requirements call for fewest units, connections and fans. Two box sizes are offered: 12’x 24’ and 14’ x 26’. Fan motor sizes are 30 hp to 100 hp, with two 7.5 hp pump motors per cell. Hot process fluid enters the coil through lower coil connections. Cooled water from the basin unit is pumped through distribution nozzles to be sprayed over the coils. Ambient air is drawn into the unit from above in parallel flow with water over the coil. A portion of the recirculated water evaporates; this evaporation — with cooled water flowing over the tubes — removes heat from the process fluid. Cooled process fluid leaves the coil through top coil connections, returning to the system.

Cloud building management system
Fujitsu’s AIRSTAGE Cloud is a building management systems as a service cloud platform providing effective and efficient monitoring, management and maintenance of Fujitsu General’s VRF and mini split systems along with the ability to control and monitor third-party equipment, including all thermostatically controlled HVAC systems, regardless of the manufacturer. With AIRSTAGE Cloud BMS as a service, building operators and facility managers can finally cost effectively deploy a BMS for any size project. Cloud access can be assigned to any number of parties. AIRSTAGE Cloud now includes two new apps, Site Manager and Refrigerant Cycle Monitor (RCM). Site Manager allows users of an account to monitor and control a complete portfolio of sites, from one site to thousands. RCM is a specialized diagnostic tool used to monitor and diagnose issues with AIRSTAGE VRF systems. It is predominantly used during installation and commissioning of VRF systems. It greatly reduces service times, labor, and repeat visits saving all stakeholders time and money.
