Water-source heat pump
The single-stage unit Bosch CL Series water-source heat pump was designed to fit most commercial replacement projects given its compact cabinet design and its quiet operations to eliminate unwanted noise. The CL Series has a swinging electrical box, a slide-out blower on the vertical units, and designated compartments for high- and low-voltage components. Together, these features not only improve safety conditions for technicians and installers, but also streamline routine services and repairs by offering greater accessibility to the unit’s compressor, air coils and other internal components. The CL Series features R-454B, a low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant in accordance with the forthcoming AIM Act, which will go into effect in January 2025. It is available in vertical or horizontal units with sizes ranging from 1/2 to 6 tons.

Pressure-independent control valve
Caleffi North America introduced the 145 Series FLOWMATIC pressure independent control valve (PICV). Available as a standalone valve or as the 149 Series FLOWMATIC Express, pre-assembled terminal unit coil kit. These valves combine an automatic differential pressure regulator and a control valve with an optional actuator. With a control signal input, the FLOWMATIC automatically adjusts the flow rate and keeps it constant under changing circuit differential pressure conditions. The FLOWMATIC PICV automatically adjusts flow rate and keeps it constant under changing circuit differential pressure conditions where it is installed. It is designed for hydronic systems and is supplied complete with pressure test ports for measuring operating conditions. The valve is available in 1/2”, 3/4” and 1” valve body sizes with sweat, press and FNPT union tailpieces.

The high-efficiency air365 Max with HeatForce is a top-flow VRF heating and cooling system that delivers seamless comfort, best-in-class energy efficiency and easy installation and maintenance for professionals, architects and commercial building owners looking to reduce operational costs and carbon footprint. The air365 Max with HeatForce can operate at 100% heating capacity with outdoor temperatures as low as -13° F and at 90% heating capacity down to -22° F. Installation of air365 Max VRF systems is simplified for contractors with airCloud Tap, an app designed to help HVAC professionals install, read and change Hitachi equipment settings, and read detailed diagnostics data with ease on mobile devices. Available with heat pump and heat recovery modes up to 24 tons, the air365 Max with HeatForce produces an Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of up to 12, as well as a Coefficient of Performance (COP) of up to 4.2 without the use of a backup auxiliary heat source.

This not only cuts down on materials but simplifies installation, making it the perfect fit for various settings, including offices, educational institutions and residential environments. The Astra Beam can deliver up to 1.5 tons of cooling using 43° F entering chilled water, achieving exceptional heating and cooling efficiency. It operates on a mere 54 watts of 24VDC power, translating to an outstanding efficiency of .08 watts per cfm. Moreover, its integrated condensate tray expertly manages condensation, ensuring a dry and comfortable space.

Viega announced the launch of 21 valves across the ProPress, MegaPress and PureFlow systems. This highly anticipated launch includes key products that cater to providing a complete system press solution. Among them are swing check valves and strainers for ProPress and MegaPress systems, brass ball valves and a complete hydronic balancing valve offering. The portfolio update also includes a ProPress 3-way mixing valve and a ProPress 3-piece ball valve. The new valves are ready to spec and purchase immediately for commercial, industrial and residential applications. An advantage of using Viega systems is the ability to press multiple system fittings and valves with the same tool, increasing efficiency and reducing incremental overhead costs. Viega ProPress, MegaPress and PureFlow systems are also approved for over 2,500 applications and work in various harsh environments.
