Cherne Industries introduced its 72-120 inch Test-Ball Plug. The world’s largest test ball, it blocks flow in the biggest pipes in sanitary and storm sewer systems, up to 120”. Cherne’s 72-120” Test-Ball Plug was carefully developed with an optimized design that offers improved performance and safety. Accommodating a back pressure of up to 6 psi, the plug weighs 850 pounds and is 152 inches long. It is made from tough, tear-resistant natural rubber and features 3/4” eyebolts that provide superior holding strength. A field-replaceable pressure relief valve prevents over-inflation, and an aluminum end plate minimizes rust and corrosion.

The new Series e-90E Smart Pump combines the e-90 pump series with the Xylem Smart Motor in a fully in-house integrated system that offers pump, motor and variable speed drive all in one. It is available in 12 combinations of high RPM e-90 models combined with the Xylem Smart Motor ranging up to 3HP. Installed in either horizontal or vertical applications, the robust mechanical seal lowers maintenance costs and increases its life. The pump’s ability to communicate with other building systems coupled with its high-efficiency hydraulic design maximizes pump performance, lowers energy cost and helps meet government regulations, the company says.

The new Hybrid Hot Series provides a continuous hot water supply and quick hot-water recovery with a 10-year warranty. The Hybrid Hot mounts the Noritz NCC199CDV commercial condensing tankless water heater onto a 119-gallon storage tank. The tankless unit draws cold water from the side port of the attached tank. The combination of tank and tankless offers flexibility for indoor commercial applications, such as restaurants and hotels, that require a large dump load of hot water over a short period of time without the use of multiple tankless water heaters. The hybrid unit has a 317 gph delivery rate and is equivalent to two tankless water heaters.

Johnson Controls-Hitachi’s new Yutaki M R32 monobloc air-to-water heat pump is an all-in-one solution, delivering heating, cooling and domestic water heater with an external tank. The 3-ton and 4-ton systems feature a newly designed, vapor injection twin-rotary compressor which maintains heating capacity up to -13° F temperatures. Utilizing a monobloc design, the self-contained Yutaki M R32 system features low-GWP (global warming potential) R-32 refrigerant and a 4.66 COP and 4.8 EER. Coupled with a compact footprint, the all-in-one heat pumps are ideal for a wide range of applications including residential and retrofit projects.

The Watts W561 smart and connected Wi-Fi thermostat provides precise temperature control of a single-stage heating system. When connected to the internet, the W561 thermostat can be controlled remotely using the Watts Home mobile app. It offers a 7-day, 4-event programmable schedule and an early start feature that automatically heats up a room by the scheduled time. An “away” mode can be quickly and easily accessed to provide energy savings when the space is unoccupied. In addition, the thermostat supports radiant floor heating with a floor sensor that can be installed to enhance comfort and protect floor coverings.

WaterFurnace International’s TruClimate 700 Modular Screw Chiller provides a variable speed, single-screw solution that is ideal for large tonnage commercial and industrial applications with varying load requirements. Designed utilizing proven field-tested technology with capacities up to 140 tons per unit, it will be one of the largest modular screw compressor chillers on the market that fits through a standard 36” doorway, the company says. This modularity simplifies installation and serviceability and allows for the banking of units up to 1,400 tons.
