Adey’s MagnaClean CMX range of filters not only protects system equipment but also reduces maintenance costs and hours, improves heat transfer, heat output and efficiency, saves energy, lowers clients’ utility bills and reduces carbon emissions, the company notes. MagnaClean captures both magnetic and nonmagnetic debris by combining powerful neodymium magnets with a range of high-quality 5-50-micron spun-bonded filter cartridges and needle-felt bag filters.

The Cold-Shot pipe freezing kit lets professionals repair an operating water system without draining lines, sprinkler or hot water systems before cutting pipe or tubing. It keeps a fully pressurized system operating while you repairs are made. Using carbon dioxide (CO2) in dip-tube cylinders, Cold-Shot freezes liquids in steel, copper cast iron, aluminum or plastic pipes – 1/8” through 2” in diameter in minutes, the company says. 

Webstone, a brand of NIBCO, announces new press × NPT products, including ball valves with reversible handles, elbows and couplings. Choose between MIP or FIP ends to easily transition from iron to copper or appliances to system piping. Also available is the new press ball valve with bleeder and reversible handle and large Pro-Pal Union Ball (sizes 1 1/4” and 1 1/2”) in FIP, sweat and press. All products feature lead-free dezincification-resistant brass.

Aqua-Rex is upgrading its commercial electronic water conditioners for treating hard water.  The two largest standard models, WK4 for treating pipes up to 4” and the WK5 for treating pipes up to 6” now feature a fault-recording system accessible through the LCD display. It provides a complete operating history, including times that the unit has been disconnected and brought back online.

Powers, a Watts brand, announces the addition of cold expansion fitting tailpiece connections (PEX F1960) for the LFLM495 and LFLM490 mixing valve series. The addition of PEX F1960 union tailpieces allows Powers to continue to offer a wide range of tailpiece options for these point-of-use and point-of-source thermostatic mixing valves, which also include threaded, sweat, PEX, CPVC, press and push-to-connect options. Connections are available in 1/2” and 3/4” sizes.

Noritz America recently released an updated version of Scale Shield. The original Scale Shield aids in preventing the buildup of hard water minerals while eliminating the need for a water softener. The updated Scale Shield is sold in a kit (SS-HB-3) via wholesaler-distributors or on the Noritz website and includes a wall bracket, wrench, lubrikit, pressure gauge and one HBC-3 cartridge. Individual cartridge replacements can be found on the website as well. The Scale Shield kit also holds a 12-month warranty for parts only.
