Emerson announced two new technologies for the Crosby J-Series pressure relief valve (PRV) product line. The first is a Balanced Diaphragm, which eliminates the need for bellows in PRVs, while providing balanced operation against backpressure to lower cost of ownership and enhance performance. The second technology is Bellows Leak Detection, enabling remote detection of bellows ruptures in PRVs, with the capability to reduce and accurately calculate volumetric emissions in real-time. Upgrade kits for existing Crosby J-Series PRVs are available for both new technologies, and new PRVs can be purchased with these features pre-installed.

Hercules Boiler Solder makes strong lasting repairs on leaks in steam boilers caused by leaking joints or sand holes during installation, or older installations where corrosion, vibration or settling causes leaks and cracks. This easy-to-use, non-metallic powder finds the trouble spots and forms a tough seal which expands and contracts with heat, resists high pressure, and temperature. Hercules Boiler Solder is for use on all hydronic systems including those with rubber or plastic components. This product remains in the boiler water of steam systems and will not seal leaks in the radiator circuit. Available in two variations of sizes: 1 lb and 200 lb.

RectorSeal’s Outset Seal, an adjustable lineset protection system for ducted and ductless HVAC installations, is designed to protect indoor areas by blocking air leakage, moisture penetration and rodent intrusion and hiding unsightly wall penetrations where HVAC linesets enter or exit structures. The product is backed with RectorSeal’s three-year limited warranty that requires no registration. Suitable for both new and retrofit HVAC installations, the Outset Seal kit includes a 12-by-12-inch panel that will accommodate HVAC linesets up to measurements of 7/8-inch outside diameter with ¾-inch of insulation.

NIBCO introduced jaws that are compatible with the NIBCO PC-280 tool for use on the PressACR product line. The new jaws can be used to press the full PressACR size range through 1 3/8" with one tool. Available in sizes ranging from 1/4" to 1 3/8", the patent-pending PressACR fittings feature an interior groove design on the press ends that help support high-pressure requirements of HVACR systems. In addition to the NIBCO PC-280 press tool, the new jaws (up to 1 1/8" inch) are compatible with other press tools featuring a force of 32 kilonewtons, including tools manufactured by RIDGID and Milwaukee.
