Residential heat pump water heater
The Voltex MAX HPWH can deliver homeowners around 40% higher First Hour Ratings than similarly sized electric water heaters and heat pump water heaters, the company says. The Voltex MAX unit’s smart valve technology allows a contractor to install a smaller tank in an area where space is tight and still get comparable performance to a larger tank by using the unit’s Hot Water + modes. For added peace of mind, the smart sensor provides notifications through A. O. Smith’s notification-enabled mobile app in the event of a detected leak. An automatic shutoff valve also comes standard on all Voltex MAX models to further protect homes. The smart anode adapts to local water conditions, protecting and extending the life of the water heater, and it displays an error code on the control panel when it needs to be replaced.

2-way zone valve
The Z-one valve is a universal zone valve that can be used in a wide range of commercial and residential applications; from fan coils to baseboard, radiant to high rise, the Z-one can be used in both chilled or hot water and low-pressure steam applications. With Delta P close off pressures of up to 75 PSI, the Z-one is available in sizes from 1/2” to 1 1/4” sweat or NPT connections on valve body, with removable actuator. A snap-on actuator allows for fast installation and easy replacement with a convenient in-line push button. A gear ratio of 21:1 in the actuator increases torque for high close-off pressure and increases closing time to reduce water hammer. It is made with materials compatible with chilled or hot water up to 240° F, 15 psi steam, and open or closed systems. Its low power consumption allows up to five valves per 40 VA transformer.

Hybrid electric heat pump water heater
The new Hybrid Electric Heat Pump Water Heater efficiently transfers heat from air-to-water, resulting in substantial energy savings for consumers seeking to reduce their utility bills. Handling hot water temperatures ranging from 50°-160° F, the product will be available in four sizes, with the model numbers indicating the gallon storage volumes: (NHP50, NHP65, NHP80, and NHP120). The specially formulated cement lining of the unit’s storage tank is designed to prevent the corrosive effects of hot water. By negating the need for a sacrificial anode rod, the lining all but eliminates maintenance requirements and the necessity for regular checks. The Hybrid Electric Heat Pump offers users five different ways to operate the unit, depending upon user demand and current conditions: hybrid (standard), electric only, heat pump only, super (for high-demand situations), and vacation. A temperature and pressure relief valve comes with the unit, pre-installed. Eligible for government rebates of up to $3,000.

Durable, high-quality heat exchangers are manufactured with rugged construction from SA-240 S43932 Chromium stainless steel. The design makes it highly resistant to combustion chamber fouling. The boiler maintains 95-96% AFUE and is available from 85-199 MBH. Systems can be designed to cascade up to eight boilers, and are available in both combi (DHW) and non-combi models.
